This year’s theme is ‘balance for better’ to create a more gender-balanced world. The day allows us to celebrate how far women’s rights have come and what more can be done to press for progress.
Highlighting the imbalance
The importance of gender diversity and inclusion has always been at the forefront of business in regards to equal pay and fair opportunities in senior positions.
There is a worry reputation clouding the telecommunication industry in regards to the inclusion of women in tech and business.
In fact, fewer than 25% of telecommunication companies track gender diversity in their application pools.
In the workplace, balance definitely matters as companies who are more diverse receive 53% higher returns and also 42% higher sales and regularly out-perform other companies.
Our gender split
With two offices on either side of the planet, we have a wide range of cultures and scope of diversity. Our unique position allows us to celebrate a wide range of traditions and celebrations within our community.
However, another feature that we should be proud of is our gender split and promotion of gender equality.
We’re excited to introduce our fantastic women who show real strength of character, power and expertise.
Here at bOnline, we have almost 50% of women employed in senior positions, such as team leaders. Having women as developers and web designers are hugely uncommon and we work to spearhead gender equality and encourage more diversity.
We're proud
To help contribute and strengthen the statistic of women in tech and set a precedent example for businesses.
We look forward to more news of female CEOs and women-led businesses in the future! It’s time for businesses to take a lead role in the conversation. Not only in bringing awareness to the issues facing women but to promote and employ more women in senior positions as well.
