March 8th is International Women’s Day.
This year’s theme is ‘choose to challenge’. This encourages us to stay alert in order to tackle unconscious gender bias and inequality.
By challenging the status quo we can choose to call out this bias and choose to seek out and celebrate women’s achievements.
Challenging the bias
At bOnline, we’re not only challenging the telecom industry with our pricing and products but also perceived gender bias.
We are among the few Tech-related firms with women in over 50% of our senior positions, such as team leaders, managers and senior management. Having women as developers and web designers is still hugely uncommon and we work to spearhead gender equality and encourage more diversity.
Shireen Dirk, Head of Sales of bOnline commented:
“I'm proud to lead our sales team to achieve growth and sales targets. I believe that we have a Wonder Woman inside all of us”
Kathryn Edwards, Head of Finance of bOnline commented:
"I definitely couldn't do my role without the support of like-minded, strong women who believe in supporting me, and each other, in order to achieve success for bOnline!"
Jade Solomon, Customer Service Manager commented:
"I firmly believe that growth stems from 'understanding' and this drives my agents to provide the best service to customers. I'm proud to lead this team"
We’re immensely proud to be able to highlight diversity and inclusion. To help contribute and strengthen statistics for Women in Tech.
It’s time for businesses to take a lead role in the conversation. Not only in bringing awareness to the issues facing women but to promote and employ more women in senior positions as well.
We’ll continue to challenge the norm and ensure women are always represented at bOnline. To everyone celebrating have a fantastic International Women’s Day!
Anthony Karbian, Founder and CEO of bOnline, commented:
"Many companies talk about diversity and the inclusion of women. At bOnline, I'm proud that we're taking the steps to ensure woman are represented throughout our company. It's no doubt one of our key strengths and I am proud of this.”
