Cut-the-cord-3

Although landline phones have been the norm for many years, VoIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) is becoming increasingly popular amongst businesses. Cloud-based phone systems, VoIP, has gained a lot of investment in the past 10 years.

Phone systems can communicate with traditional telephones, mobiles and other VoIP phones. Instead of conventional phone lines, they call using the internet. This, along with additional functionality can increase the productivity of your business, and save you money each month.

A Cloud-based phone system sends voices between two points, using your existing internet, and converts the sound into ‘data packets’. You can consider a data packet as an envelope filled with your data (your voice). When you talk, the sound gets captured and sent over the internet to your recipient.

For a landline replacement, VoIP works extremely well and many users don’t even notice the difference. Having a high-speed internet is essential for VoIP to work no matter how you get it, and it is important you check if the speeds in your area will host VoIP before buying it.

Reasons to cut the cord:

Cost effective. Since VoIP phone calls are all made over the Internet, local calls between employees – regardless of their location, whether on-site or working from home – are free. International calls to other countries are a lot cheaper than the rates charged by phone operators, which all lower your monthly phone bill.

Feature rich. Your employees will use multiple devices throughout the day – a personal mobile, work mobile, desk phone, laptop, desktop etc. Each user can set up custom rules to ensure that phone calls can always reach them, no matter which device they may be using. Features like call hunt, group voicemail, automatic call forwarding and routing etc. are generally included in most VoIP plans and they can greatly improve employee productivity.

Easy to set up & scalable. Every organisation goes through painful technology upgrades which can be extremely disruptive and counterproductive. If you choose to upgrade to a cloud-based phone system, the transition can take as little as a few hours or a day! The hardware is simple to set up, so it is truly plug and play! As your business grows, your cloud-based phone system will grow with you.
