Are you coming to the end of your business broadband contract and dreading searching for a new supplier?

Switching supplier, whether it is for broadband, car insurance or water bills, can be incredibly time-consuming. But it is a task that, if done correctly, will save you time and money.

Although it can be tempting to stay with the same provider for the sheer ease of it, you can be sure that there are better deals out there that will suit your needs better. These four tips will help you when it comes to choosing a new supplier.

What speed do you need?

Does your desired contract meet your needs? There are many factors that will determine the speed of internet that your business needs. It can be as simple as the number of people using your internet line, or how many files you download a day.

Broadband speed can make a huge impact in your office. It is estimated that workers lose up to 36 hours a year so while it may seem like a small issue and waiting 5 minutes for a file to download may seem insignificant, it can lead a lot of wasted time.

You could also consider fibre optic business broadband. Fibre optic is fantastic for busy offices or even those in areas where standard broadband is too slow for your needs. The UK has recently seen an investment in the fibre network. Read more here.

Always compare

There are hundreds of business broadband providers all providing slightly different broadband deals for you to choose. When it comes to the end of your contract staying with the same company for ease is an appealing thought. The reality of it is though switching each year can save you a lot of money.

Use an Ofcom approved comparison site, for example, uSwitch which will present you with options for you to find the right broadband choice for you. Sites like these bring out the otherwise hidden costs of a package and show the latest and best offers.

Think about customer service

Customer service is something not to be overlooked. If you are unsure of a provider's reputation, there are some easy ways to read about other businesses experiences. Go to websites such as Trustpilot, where customers are encouraged to leave an independent review based on their experience.

Reading these reviews can give you a valuable insight into how the provider treats its customers. You can then make a better judgement of the company as a whole, leaving you free to separate the good companies from the poor.

Spend some time, do some research

This is by far the most important step of all. Your business broadband can make or break your company, as it is relied on so much. Your best bet is to look around and research each company individually, and see if they meet your individual criteria.

Don’t settle for the first supplier you come across, be sure to look at all the competition and ask any questions to the suppliers before you sign up.

So there you have it, four simple ways to make your search for a new broadband supplier easier and hassle-free.
